Therapy for Trauma & Life Transitions in New orleans

In-person therapy in New Orleans, with online therapy throughout Louisiana, Mississippi & Tennessee.

Trauma Therapy for Adults

Trauma can affect people in many different ways. It may come from childhood experiences, abuse or neglect, difficult relationships, bullying, loss, or other experiences that left you feeling unsafe, overwhelmed, or unable to move forward.

You may notice anxiety, painful memories, difficulty trusting others, irritability, or a sense that you’re stuck in patterns you understand but haven’t been able to change. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space to make sense of what you’ve experienced, understand how it continues to affect you, and develop healthier ways of moving forward.

My experience working for five years in a children’s advocacy center helped shape my understanding of trauma and its lasting impact. I bring that experience to my work with adults who are ready to better understand their past while creating meaningful change in their lives.

EMDR Therapy for Trauma

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process traumatic and distressing experiences. For some clients, EMDR can be a helpful part of trauma therapy, particularly when difficult experiences continue to affect how they feel, think, or respond in the present.

My approach to trauma therapy is individualized, and EMDR is one of several therapeutic tools I may incorporate based on your needs, goals, and preferences.

My integrated approach to therapy can help you process & resolve distressing experiences so you can move forward with a wholehearted life.

Therapy for Life Transitions

Life transitions can be difficult even when the change itself is positive. A new relationship, marriage, divorce, becoming a parent, children leaving home, a career change, relocation, loss, or simply entering a new stage of life can leave you feeling uncertain about what comes next.

Therapy offers a place to slow down, sort through what you’re experiencing, and better understand what you need during periods of change. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, and able to move forward.

Therapy can help with:

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship changes

  • Career transitions

  • Empty nest and family changes

  • Identity and sense of purpose

  • Anxiety about what comes next
